I've never been a server before, but I've eaten in restaurants with A LOT of servers, and there really seems to be a culture of high expectations among the "server community." <br /><br />In turn, I think that understanding these expectations has also made me a more appreciative customer. The list that you provided only further increased my appreciation for the difficulty that comes with the job - these sound like really good common sense ideas that you just named off, many of which I would have never considered, being a non-server.<br /><br />As I've become more aware as a customer, I think that I've also begun to recognize the little things that differentiate good from bad service.
